Knockdown Brush Fire; INC#0408; 09:45AM; 1100 W Upland Av; ; San Pedro; 60 LAFD personnel responded by ground and air - the latter providing critical water drops - taking less than 45 minutes to fully contain and extinguish flames that consumed one-quarter (0.25) acre of brush and grass in a difficult to access canyon near Peck Park. No injury. No structure damage. No evacuation. Ground-based LAFD crews will remain for ~ 2 hours to handle mop-up of hot spots and smoldering debris.
