The Industrial and Commercial Section has inspection responsibility of all High Rise buildings within the City of Los Angeles on a annual basis. Additionally, this section inspects complex and large industrial and commercial occupancies enforcing fire life safety regulations. Another responsibility of the Industrial and Commercial Section is enforcing ordinances covering brush and/or hazardous vegetation management and providing assistance and technical information to field personnel and to the public regarding the brush and grass clearance program.
The Brush Unit develops and administers an annual contract for private vendors to complete brush clearance, and processing this document to the Department of General Services and processes noncompliance parcels in the Very High Fire Hazard Severity Zone.
