Hydrants and Access
OVERVIEW
The Hydrants and Access Unit reviews hydrant placement and access to all sites and structures. The Fire Department evaluates the access via the existing and proposed public and private streets and fire lanes for adequate width, turn‑a‑rounds and turning radii, grade access points, parking restrictions, overhead clearances, load capacity, and secured entrances to improve response times.
For projects requiring Hydrants and Access approval, please review the plan check procedures below and submit a plan check application electronically through the FIMS Customer Portal by clicking .
