KNOCKDOWN - FATALITY Structure Fire; INC#0648; 10:46AM; 11915 W Kling St; ; Valley Village; KNOCKDOWN: 44 firefighters conducted an offensive operation, locating and extinguishing fire in one unit on the 1st floor of a two-story garden style apartment building. While conducting their primary search, firefighters located a person in the unit. Unfortunately, the patient was beyond medical help and determined dead on scene (age / gender unknown at this time). Identification and cause of death will be handled by the LA County Medical Examiner and LAPD Inc# 1781. Crews prevented the fire from extending to any exposed units, allowing the re-housing of all other residents. Per protocol, LAFD Arson investigators are responding for fire cause determination.
