Strike Team Deployment - River Fire; INC#1657; 06:30AM; River Fire - Mariposa County; Last night, a strike team request was fulfilled for the River Fire in Mariposa County. The LAFD provided four engines with Glendale Fire supplying the fifth that constitutes a strike team (five engines and one battalion chief). As of 12 July, CalFire reports the fire size at 9,000 acres with 10% containment. Low humidity, tree torching, wind driven runs with frequent spot fires, in addition to dangerous heat levels, continue to challenge firefighters.
