Update Train vs Pedestrian Fatality; INC#1226; 07:55PM; 7400 N Coldwater Canyon Av; ; Sun Valley; CORRECTION: Earlier train description incorrect; Was based on 9-1-1 callers repeatedly stating "freight train" and not passenger train involved; Train is actually 'southbound' Amtrak Pacific Surfliner (intercity passenger) train #792 destined for San Diego, when it struck an adult male near the Coldwater Canyon Avenue grade crossing at approximately 7:15 PM; That man is dead and remains at the scene; There are no other injuries and NO Union Pacific freight train was involved; The Amtrak train crew and 126 passengers remain stopped at the location, but are not blocking any crossings; Media Inquiries: LAPD Valley Traffic Incident #4532; Amtrak; Coroner; FS 89; Batt 14; Valley Bureau; Council District 2; - Brian Humphrey
