Bleeding Control

Traumatic injuries can occur at any time and have many causes. Uncontrolled bleeding can cause death well before emergency responders can arrive, but by utilizing simple techniques and available equipment, a bystander’s actions can significantly improve a victim’s chance of survival. The LAFD is actively encouraging the installation of publicly accessible bleeding control kits in strategic locations throughout the city of Los Angeles and training as many residents and employees as possible in their use.
