2021 Brush Fire Season Press Conference

On August 23, 2021, ÃûæÂÖ±²¥ (LAFD) Chief Ralph Terrazas joined Mayor Eric Garcetti and Councilwoman Monica Rodriguez in  highlighting the Department’s readiness for the peak of wildfire season, which typically hits Southern California from October through December.

Simultaneously, LAFD showcased its fleet of five Agusta Westland AW139 helicopters and welcomed the return of the Erickson Air Crane helicopter as it begins its annual 150-day contract to protect the City against brush fires.
