The Los Angeles City Fire Department was deeply saddened by the active duty death of John E. Ruedy, Captain II.
Captain Ruedy began his career with the LAFD on July 9th, 1989. His most recent field assignment was at the Disaster Response Section.
Captain Ruedy sadly passed away on May 22, 2021. He is survived by his wife, daughter, son, mother and two brothers LAFD Captain II Brandon Ruedy assigned to the Air Operations Section and LAFD Inspector Brent Ruedy in the Valley Commercial Industrial Unit.
A Celebration of Life is planned for July 30, 2021 for fire service members to honor and remember him.
