HOMES SAVED DURING LINCOLN HEIGHTS BRUSH FIRE

LINCOLN HEIGHTS-

Firefighters extinguish a 6.6 acre greater alarm brush fire in an area of dry grass, stopping the fire from engulfing nearby homes.

On May 23, 2017 at 12:54pm, the was notified of a brush fire at the , where crews were met with flames near several residential areas and spreading up a nearby hill. Firefighters quickly outstretched hose lines around homes being threatened and were able to extinguish any threat of mass damage in just over an hour.

LAFD air and ground operations were supported by ground crews with water drops extinguishing the flame front and stopping it in its tracks.  No injuries were reported and the cause is under investigation.

Firefighters want to remind everybody that as the weather begins to heat up, small fires can grow more rapidly, and early detection and notification using the 9-1-1 system can save property and lives.
