Friday, October 24, 2014

ÃûæÂÖ±²¥fighters responded to a Brush Fire at 10:37 p.m. on October, 23, 2014, in the Pacific Palisades/Rustic Canyon area.

Fire Companies arrived to 1686 N. Capri Drive to find just over two acres of thick brush burning in difficult-to-access terrain. LAFD Air Operations, assisted by LA County Fire helicopters provided repetitive and precise water drops on the remote and rugged terrain. Approximately 75 LAFD Firefighters and LA County Camp Crews remained on scene throughout the night and into the day on Friday to mop up and fully extinguish the blaze. Fortunately this was a terrain driven fire, not wind driven. Weather conditions were: 61 °F, wind 3 mph, humidity 80%.

There were no injuries and no damage to structures. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
