LAFD Tackles Hillside Garage Fire, 70 Year Old Man Found Dead
ÃûæÂÖ±²¥fighters tackled a hillside, detached garage fire and found a 70 year old man dead inside.
At 3:25 AM on 9 August, 2015 the responded to a reported structure fire in the . Firefighters arrived to find a hillside garage well involved with fire and wires down in front of the structure. 29 firefighters, under the command of Battalion Chief Andrew Wordin, worked quickly to extinguish the blaze in only 26 mins. While searching the garage, a 70 year old man was found dead. Correction to initial reports on his location, he was not found in a vehicle. There were no other injuries to occupants or firefighters.
The fire is under investigation by LAFD Arson. Dollar loss TBD.
