Potential Flooding and Debris Flow in Los Angeles

Sunday, January 7, 2018
Los Angeles-

The , and partnering public safety agencies stress the importance of being Ready, Set, Go not just for brush fires but for potential flooding and debris flow with the expected heavy rains tonight.

The LAFD and LAPD augment staffing across the City in preparation for potential flooding and debris flow in the areas of the recent brush fires.  However, we need YOUR help to keep you safe.  The encourages residents to prepare for the event of evacuation.  Things to gather in preparation for an evacuation include: identification, medication, food, water, important documents (birth certificates, marriage certificates, passports etc), emergency supplies, change of clothes, toiletries and a cell phone charger.  In addition, please prepare for potential evacuation for your pets.  Think about how you will evacuate any large animals BEFORE the time comes.  Preparing large animals for an evacuation saves them from unecessary stressors and potential danger once the disaster hits.
