At 12:28, knockdown was declared and firefighters are conducting mop up operations to ensure no hot spots remaining. Jumper - FATALITY 05/16/2025 INC#0623

Jumper - FATALITY; INC#0623; 10:33AM; Eb Vincent Thomas Bridge Fy; ; San Pedro; LAFD is in Unified Command with LA Port Police for a person reported to have climbed the cables on the Vincent Thomas Bridge and jumped. LA Port Police boat was on scene and recovered the patient from the water. Unfortunately, the patient was beyond medical help and determined dead on scene (unknown age/gender). Crews extinguished the fire in 14 minutes with no injuries reported. The adjoining units were defended from damage. Update Structure Fire 05/14/2025 INC#0591

Update Structure Fire; INC#0591; 11:17AM; 306 W 59th Pl; ; Florence; The male occupant of the unit has barricaded himself and is not communicating with first responders. Based on smoke conditions (lack thereof), there does not appear to be an active fire problem. Firefighters left equipment in place and have moved to a safe location while LAPD establishes their operation. This will be a LAPD lead until the occupant is removed and firefighters can make entry to determine what, if any, action is required. The building remains evacuated and no injuries reported. The occupant of the unit has it secured and appears to be experiencing a behavioral emergency. Firefighters are evacuating the building and LAPD is arriving on scene to provide security and assistance in making entry into the unit. Cliff Rescue - FATALITY 05/13/2025 INC#1030

Cliff Rescue - FATALITY; INC#1030; 03:08PM; 1000 W Paseo Del Mar; ; #SanPedro; At 2:22PM, the LAFD responded to a reported medical aid near Sunken City. Firefighters investigated and visually located a deceased person below the cliff on the rocks. The incident was upgraded to a Cliff Rescue and crews are currently evaluating the situation to determine the safest method for the body recovery operation.
